Before You Start

  • You should know the active entity.
  • You should know whether you are reviewing valuation records or checking status and values.

What is Valuation?

This module is the valuation workspace. On paper, this would be the valuation schedule, method notes, working model summary, and approval tracker.

In Beam Machine, it lives under Valuation.

When do you use this?

Use this module when:

  • a valuation needs to be tracked,
  • value outputs need review,
  • or the team needs to check whether a valuation is draft, in review, or approved.

Where do you find it?

Primary path: Finance -> Valuation
Confirmed routes:

  • /dashboard/valuation
  • /dashboard/valuation/list

Important: the valuation home page references DCF and comparables concepts, but the currently confirmed live route list in this repo only shows the two routes above.

How to work in Valuation

Review the module home

  1. Open Valuation.
  2. Review total valuations, approved items, pending review, and drafts.
  3. Use the summary to decide whether you need the detailed list.

Review all valuations

  1. Open Valuation -> Valuations.

  2. Review:

    • name
    • valuation date
    • method
    • enterprise value
    • equity value
    • currency
    • status

  3. Check whether the item is Draft, In Review, Approved, or Superseded.

āœ… Checkpoint: You should now know whether the valuation is current and whether it is safe to rely on it.

Common Questions & Issues

"The page mentions DCF and comparables, but I cannot open full separate screens"

Why this happens: The valuation landing page points to broader valuation concepts than the currently confirmed route list fully exposes.

Fix: Treat /dashboard/valuation and /dashboard/valuation/list as the confirmed live surface, and treat deeper links as environment-specific until verified.

"Can I use a draft valuation for reporting?"

Why this happens: A draft is visible and looks close to complete.

Fix: Check the status first. Do not treat a draft as approved output.
