Working In Beam Machine Modules

This page helps you jump to the correct module manual without guessing.

Product: Beam Machine
Module: Module Manuals
Role: All staff-app users
Difficulty: Beginner
Time: 3 minutes to choose a module, then follow the linked page
Last Updated: 2026-03-10
Version: Current Beam Machine app build in this repo

Before You Start

  • You should already know whether you are in the staff app or the client portal.
  • You should know your job area, for example accounting, payroll, fleet, audit, or tax.
  • If the sidebar still confuses you, read ../03-navigation-and-layout.md first.

What is this page?

This is the module shelf for Beam Machine. Each linked page explains one major work area, using the same doc method and the same live-route baseline.

When do you use this?

Use this page when:

  • you know the job but not the correct module,
  • you are onboarding a user into one team,
  • or you need one module-specific manual instead of a big cross-product overview.

Where do you find the module manuals?

Primary path: Beam Machine Help -> Module Manuals
Quick access: Use ../98-screen-map.md if you first need to find the route.
Alternative: Use ../99-functionality-gap-map.md if you need to confirm whether the feature is fully live.

How do you use this page?

  1. Find the module group that matches your work.
  2. Open that module manual.
  3. Read the prerequisites and click path.
  4. Follow the numbered steps for the task you need.

āœ… Checkpoint: You should end up in one module page that clearly matches one work area.

Finance and control modules

If you need the deeper shelf for one reporting route or one tax workflow, do not stay in the module overview. Move to:

Operations, people, and specialist modules

Common Questions & Issues

"I still don't know which manual is mine"

Why this happens: Users think in departments, but Beam Machine groups work by modules and workflows.

Fix: Start with the thing you are trying to do. Journals go to Accounting. VAT201 goes to Tax. Equipment check-out goes to Rental. Audit engagement setup goes to Audit.

"My module is missing from the sidebar"

Why this happens: Your role may not have access, or you may be in the wrong workspace.

Fix: Check ../02-roles-and-access.md and confirm you are not in the client portal by mistake.
